Although we recognise our voice represents one perspective, we see the Natural Wine Society as being a vehicle within which all voices can be heard. Through discussions, forums, media, academic research, events and engagement, we look to present thought leaders who value natural wine as a viable wine category and experience.

A platform for awareness & acceptance
Public opinion is influenced by what the wine industry advocates. But this is also true the other way around. We aim to raise awareness of natural wine, its principles and producers, through thoughtful storytelling and valuable insights. This way, we can bring together all stakeholders on a platform of understanding and acceptance.
Build credibility through legal classification
What is wine? And what makes a wine authentic and of high quality? We aim for legal classification in which wine that is spontaneously fermented, unfined, unfiltered, and with little or no sulfur ("natural wine") is recognised as a distinct type of wine with its own aesthetics, and is neutrally evaluated according to specific criteria.
Establish consensus via
academic rigor
We believe in the power of questioning what we know and think we know. As an industry, questioning the status quo leads to understanding, which leads to knowledge, resulting in wisdom which continues to move the industry forward. Our strong background and expertise in academia provides the testing ground for ideas and future application.
